Dan Begelman

is a musician with a vision.......

Dan's first love is Project 7, his ground-breaking venture into original instrumental guitar music.  Driven by a passion to play music that moves him both spiritually and emotionally, Dan forged his own creative environment to bring his music to the forefront and discover his inner voice.  Supported by drummer Tony Gallino and bassist John DeCesare, Dan continues to explore the boundaries of instrumental guitar music.

"Lost For Words" and "Birth/Death/Infinity" are both self-produced CD’s released on Dan's own label, DSB Records.  A third Project 7 CD is pending, with recording scheduled to begin in the fall of 2005.

Two tracks from Dan's CD's, Six Fingers from "Lost For Words" and The Last Night from "Birth/Death/Infinity", are featured on a compilation guitar CD called "Handz of Danz" now available at Guitar 9 Records.

Recently, Dan and Tony formed Blue Phoenix Music, a music production company primarily geared towards providing soundtracks for radio, television and motion pictures. Their music libraries have been featured domestically on major network/cable television shows including  TLC's "A Baby Story", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Boy Meets World", Disney Kids Channel, Nickelodeon's "Nick News" and internationally in Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Ireland, Germany and Switzerland.  Long time members of ASCAP , they have current licensing deals with Bruton Music and Mean Red Music Placement and have jingle libraries placed with TM Century.

Dan Begelman is the consummate musician.  His working credits include just about everything a musician can do to earn a living in the music business; from studio guitarist and Broadway pit musician to music director for 50's rock & roll revival concerts.  He is the primary guitar arranger/engraver for Alfred Publishing (formerly Warner Bros. Publishing), as well as a contributing arranger for Guitar World
magazine.  He introduced the AXON guitar synthesizer at the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA, and conducts guitar clinics at various Sam Ash music stores in the New York area.  Dan authored his first instructional book, "Introducing Seven String Guitar”, for Warner Bros. Publications.  He is endorsed by Seymour Duncan pickups and GHS guitar strings.

Although skilled in all styles of guitar, his strength's are rock/blues/jazz-fusion and classical guitar.  One can hear a variety of influences in his music, but guitarists Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin and Johnny Winter initially come to mind.  Dan's musical influences are, in his words, "any great musician who's music has moved me to feel something very deep and personal, to put a smile on my face and to bring tears to my eyes, to shake me up and make me wonder."
